You Are Our Priority

At Audecibel , you are fully supported by a hearing expert and this first appointment is an important step in your journey towards better hearing. The hearing care professional conducts an in-depth interview with you in order to have a precise understanding of your needs, motivations and expectations. Discover with us how the process of your hearing aid fitting takes place in four stages.

Step1

Attempts

A personalized interview the hearing aid professional carries out a complete assessment to understand your discomfort and your expectations.

A testing phase: observation of the ear canals, measurement of auditory perception and speech comprehension. This allows us to know what is received, understood and supported.
A tailor-made recommendation taking into account:

Technology: The hearing aids that will be offered to you are part of a complete range that includes several levels of technology. This choice, which depends on the adaptation capabilities of the devices, will be made according to your hearing, but also according to your needs and lifestyle (meetings, quiet life, etc.).

The type of device, the shape depends on the hearing loss, the anatomy of the ears and your wishes, but there may also be contraindications to certain devices.

Your budget: the cost of a device depends on its level of technology. The hearing aid professional will therefore offer you a quote adapted to your needs and will present you with the reimbursements to which you are entitled as well as the various financial aids if necessary.

A FREE trial of the device is offered to you by your hearing care professional at the end of the appointment.

Step2

First Programming of Devices

The adjustments are made using in-situ measurements: directly in your ear canal to collect all the responses from the device which will thus be optimized.

Checking the effectiveness of the device after the first adjustment by a new comparative audiometric measurement, with and without the devices.

Personalized prosthetic adaptation: The hearing aid professional will explain the handling and maintenance of your hearing aids.

Start of the trial period. Do not hesitate to write down your impressions, they will be collected by the hearing care professional who will take them into account.

Step3

audioprosthetist

Start with an observation to see if the device is well placed, if it does not cause irritation, if it is used well. He listens to you in order to make any corrections: it is common to feel discomfort at the beginning by the restitution of certain noises forgotten for a long time. The hearing aid professional then adapts the hearing correction so that the device is well tolerated.

Subsequently, he will gradually increase the amplification until it is satisfactory. Sometimes patients encounter mechanical problems with the device that interferes in the canal or with handling, it is then adjusted. In all cases, the hearing aid professional devotes the time necessary to find a solution.

In general, a trial period is necessary before making the decision to purchase the device. Indeed, the patient must be able to get used to the different situations of his daily life.

Step4

Careful Monitoring and Check-ups
